Matt Pryor, frontman for the Kansas foursome the Terrible Twos, doesn’t really think of himself as a “children’s artist.” He’s just a guy who made a pop record (2007’s If You Ever See an Owl …) for his kids that he and his wife could listen to in the car without going nuts. And considering that Terrible Twos songs like “Lady Bug,” “The Littlest Houdini” and “When I Get to Eleven” are all every bit as hooky, cool and inspired as the music Pryor’s made fronting both the Get Up Kids and the New Amsterdams — and the fact that his New Amsterdam bandmates Dustin Kinsey, Eric McCann and Bill Belzer round out the Terrible Twos’ lineup — chances are lots of other hip parents and their hipper kids will dig the record, too.
