New York City’s the Jimmies take being silly very seriously. Winners of a 2007 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award and a 2007 Parents’ Choice Award, members Ashley Albert, Tim Kubart, Matt Puckett and Dan Weiner are all seriously talented musicians who could easily put their collective instrumental and songwriting prowess to use making serious “art” to impress serious grown-ups, but since they’re grown-ups themselves and get to make their own decisions, they choose instead to entertain the “shorter set.” And anyone who might have a problem with that needs to spend some serious time with their own inner child — and their own children — and a copy of the Jimmies’ CD Make Your Own Someday, and learn to surrender themselves to the awesome power of the silly side.
