Kidzapalooza Chicago 2009 Activities
This year's activities include:
School of Rock Jam Tent
Members of Paul Green's School of Rock All Stars will be on site
for workshops and assist kidz in handling different types of
instruments. Kidz are free to rock out on any and all instruments.
There will be a full rock band set up that includes: drums, mics,
guitars, amps, bass and keyboards.
- Workshops include:
- Learning to Rock 101: Hands-on rock lessons on real gear.
Hands-on rock lessons on real gear.
- The Shred Seminar: Learn how to play, look and pose like
a rocker.
- Guitar God Seminar with Peter DiStefano: Enough said. Real
guitars and real fun.
Break Dancing Workshops: There will a dance floor set
up in the shade for kids to learn break dancing with the Brickheadz.
Learn break dancing fundamentals and even spin on your head.
Hip Hop Workshop: The Q Brothers will teach kids how
to scratch, beat box and rhyme. Take home a CD of your Phat track!
Cool Table Comedy Workshop: "HEY! YOU'RE A ROCK
STAR!" An interactive 10 minute play in-which three kids
are picked out of the audience and turned into a band, then through
narration and scenes orchestrated by some Chicago's most talented
improvisors we present the life of these new found rock stars.
The "band" will "play a gig," deal with groupies
and take interviews.
Skateboarding Workshops: Watch skaters do their tricks
up close and personal. Then learn some basic moves and the importance
of safety.
Arts at Play: Create your own moveable art using recycled
items and natural materials. Arts at Play is a program that offers
opportunities for kids of all ages through The Chicago Parks
District.
Hairdooz with Siren Salon: A chance for kidz to be
styled using environmentally, kid friendly products. A pink Mohawk
will have you in style for the festival.
Tattooz: A combination of body painting and temporary
tattoos are available at this station. Be a rock star while at
the festival!
Photo Shootz: Kidz capture their new rock star look
at the on site "Kidz Photo Shoot" area.
John Yost's Rhythm Revolution provided by Remo: Teaching
the kidz rock rhythm on all sorts of drums at the end of everyday.
Let's shake the city of Chicago!
Lifeway Kefir Yogurt: Kidz can taste healthy yogurt
samples that are probiotic.
